Shanghai, China – June 12th, 2018 -JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd. (NYSE: JKS) (the "Company," or "JinkoSolar"), a global leader in the solar PV industry, today announced that it was chosen to supply 50MW high efficient polycrystalline module to the Burnoye -2 solar plant located in the sun-rich but energy-poor Zhambyl region in south Kazakhstan. Once completed, the project, financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (“EBRD”) will become Kazakhstan’s largest solar power plant and an example of successful implementation of a project-financed renewable energy project in the country. “It’s definitely exciting news that this landmark solar project in Kazakhstan adopted JinkoSolar panel, particularly given the project’s endorsement by EBRD. The project is a testament to the high efficiency, unmatched reliability, and durability of our products. Kazakhstan possesses significant renewable energy potential, especially solar given its high irradiance. Going forward, the Kazakh government has launched a strategic initiative and set ambitious goals during the Paris COP21 climate conference to produce up to 50 percent of its electricity from renewables by 2050. As one of the first mover in the country, JinkoSolar is well positioned locally and preferred by both developers and renewable energy financier such as EBRD in the region. With this project and the EBRD recognition on our resume, we look to bring solar to other countries in Central Asia” said Gener Miao, Vice President of JinkoSolar.
